2001 Australia 20 Cent – Sir Donald Bradman Commemorative
Issued to honour cricket legend Sir Donald Bradman, this 20 cent coin features a dynamic portrait of Bradman in action. Released in 2001, it was only the second commemorative 20c coin circulated in Australia. Designed by Vladimir Gottwald, with Queen Elizabeth II’s fourth portrait by Ian Rank-Broadley on the obverse.

The obverse shows the crowned mature head of Queen Elizabeth II facing right (her effigy known as the “Fourth Portrait”). The Queen wears the “Girls of Great Britain and Ireland” diamond tiara, a wedding gift from Queen Mary (Her Majesty’s grandmother) in 1947 – which she also has on the Machin and the Gottwald portraits.
